Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms explain the permitted use of stefs.site, a personal portfolio and independent blog operated by Stefan Caliaro in Sydney, Australia. Please use the site responsibly. Questions, concerns and abuse reports can be sent to [email protected].
Personal opinions and information
Views expressed here are my own and do not represent, and are not endorsed by, any employer, client or other organisation. Articles reflect their publication or update dates; historical posts may be out of date. Content is general information and opinion, not personalised legal, financial, medical, employment or other professional advice. Check important information with appropriate sources before relying on it.
Comments, reactions and community conduct
Abuse of comments, reactions or other community features is not tolerated. Respectful disagreement, good-faith criticism and different opinions are welcome. Critique ideas without attacking people.
- No harassment, threats, intimidation, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, targeted bullying or doxxing.
- No impersonation, deceptive claims of affiliation, publication of another person's private information or unlawful content.
- No spam, scams, malicious links, repetitive flooding, unsolicited promotion or coordinated disruption.
- No bots, fake accounts or other techniques intended to manipulate hearts, reactions, reader counts or discussion. The 50-heart allowance is for genuine appreciation, not permission to evade limits using additional browsers, identities or scripts.
- Only submit content you have the right to share. Do not infringe copyright or other rights.
Comments currently use Giscus and GitHub Discussions, so GitHub's rules also apply. Public comments and account information may be visible through both services. You remain responsible for what you submit. Posting a comment allows it to be displayed through the site's discussion feature; you retain any rights you hold in your contribution.
I may moderate, hide, remove or lock content, remove manipulated reactions or counts where technically possible, restrict access or report suspected unlawful activity to the relevant provider or authorities. Moderation may occur without advance notice where needed to address abuse. Discussion is not monitored continuously, and immediate removal cannot be guaranteed. To report a problem or ask for a moderation decision to be reviewed, email the relevant URL and a brief explanation. Do not send abusive material beyond what is needed to understand the report.
No malicious system use
Do not attack, disrupt or misuse this site or its connected services. Prohibited conduct includes malware distribution, phishing, credential theft, unauthorised access, exploiting vulnerabilities, denial-of-service attacks, deliberately excessive requests, bypassing rate limits or bot protection, probing private endpoints, and tampering with analytics, reactions, comments or stored data.
Normal browsing, accessibility tools, legitimate search indexing and ordinary sharing are welcome. Security testing requires prior written authorisation. If you discover a potential vulnerability accidentally, stop testing and report it privately to [email protected]; do not access others' data, exploit the issue or publish sensitive details while it is being assessed.
Copyright, credits and links
Unless otherwise credited or licensed, original writing and site content belong to their respective creators. You may link to articles and share brief attributed excerpts where permitted by law. Seek permission before republishing substantial original content. Third-party photographs, screenshots, videos, logos, quoted material and imported content retain their owners' rights; their appearance here does not transfer those rights or imply endorsement. Contact me about attribution or removal concerns.
External websites, embedded media, chat, comments and payment providers have their own terms and privacy practices. I do not control their content, availability or security.
Voluntary “Buy me a tea” payments
Support payments are optional, processed through Stripe and intended to support running this personal site. They do not purchase a product, subscription, guaranteed response, favourable coverage or influence over moderation. They are not represented as charitable donations or tax-deductible gifts. Check the amount and currency in Stripe checkout before paying. Contact [email protected] about an accidental or disputed payment; requests will be considered subject to applicable law and payment-provider processes.
Availability and legal rights
I aim to keep the site useful and accurate, but content and features can change, contain errors or become unavailable. Use appropriate care when relying on information or following external links. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, liability or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
These terms are intended to operate under the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory protections or rights that apply in your location. The Privacy Policy explains information handling separately. Changes to these terms will be published here with an updated date; changes are not intended to remove rights already accrued.
